It was Bullying / Cyberbullying Awareness Week this week in Willow Park and the boys have been learning how important it is to treat others with respect. They also learned to be aware of how their actions and words can affect others.
Willow Park has its own written policy on bullying and how to prevent it.
3RD & 4TH FORM PERFORMING AN ANTI BULLYING CONCERT
This policy is reviewed by the Board each year. Steps to prevent bullying are taking place throughout the school year with positive behaviour being promoted and careful supervision of the boys.
Willow Park is a telling school which means that boys should tell when they are being bullied or if they see/hear someone else being bullied. A range of sanctions can be put in place in a case of bullying. However, a child can be expelled if bullying behaviour is not corrected.
An important message learned at school this week is how important friends are and how they can count on each other.
You can count on me like 1, 2, 3 - I’ll be there !!
I can count on you like 4, 3, 2 - You’ll be there !!
