Willow Park Student selected as one of 150 Youth Assembly delegates

During the Summer Paddy entered a competition on RTE Junior to be one of 150 Youth Assembly delegates that will enter Dáil Eireann on Friday the 15th of November to debate and hopefully create a proclamation from the Youth of Ireland on the impacts of Climate Change.

Thousands of children all over the country entered the competition and it was open to children aged 10 to 17 years old. Paddy really impressed the judges with his message of sustainability and the eradication of single use plastic, the selling of his sugar cane water bottles, the relationship cultivated with Refill.ie and the teamwork and support provided by his class teacher and classmates. He will become the youngest member to enter the Dail for the debate.

The debate and creation of the new proclamation will be screened live on RTE 2 Friday between 10.30am and 2.30pm. The proclamation will then be signed by all of the delegates (including Paddy) at 3pm.

I would like all within our school to support this very worthwhile cause by logging on to the RTE Junior website - on Friday the 15th of November and endorse the proclamation created by our future leaders.

Good luck Paddy - the whole school is proud of you. Well done!
