Weekly Message from the Principal - Show Kindness

‘No one has ever become poor by giving.’
Anne Frank

Teachers, staff, parents and most importantly the boys of Willow thank you sincerely for all of your hard work, support, respect and kindness you have shown especially over the past four weeks. Father Cormac O’Brocháin has put together a very special Easter message in which he expresses that these are very difficult and challenging times. However, this gives us an opportunity to be in fearless and bold and Reach Out with Caring and Kindness to people who are feeling very lonely and scared at this time.

Just like the quotation above from Anne Frank we will gain so much more by remotely connecting with family over this Easter break and sharing our Easter stories and activities with friends remotely. I love the recent initiative by An Post and would ask all of the boys in the Junior school to Come Together by Writing a card, letter or note to someone that you really miss at this time. A letter or handwritten card is a lovely way to show someone that you care because you have to pause, take time out and make the effort to write something down on a piece of paper and then post it to them.

I have phoned Father Denis Gavin again this week and he passes on his prayers and thoughts to everyone. He is in great form and is looking forward to his Festival happening again in September. This is something that we all in the Junior school community must look forward to along with First Holy Communion with Second Form, Arts’ Week and Songs in the Park – these events will happen again when this pandemic is over.

In the meantime men enjoy the warm sunshine, be kind to each other and please stay safe by staying apart. I wish all Willow families a happy, safe, enjoyable Easter break at home.
