Attending the All Ireland Swimming Championship

24 / 02 / 2015

On Sunday 8th February I woke up feeling really excited, but nervous at the same time. The day of the All Ireland Schools Swimming Championship had finally arrived! I was really hoping for a medal and a few personal best times. On the way to the gala I heard that the under 12 boys had won a gold medal in their relay and that inspired me even more. I really hoped I wouldn’t let my team mates Jed, Harry and Matthew down. I was raring to go when the start was called and I swam as fast as I could. When I finished my leg of the relay, we were in the lead and the others kept the lead. They were brilliant! We won the medley relay by 5 seconds and the freestyle by 15 seconds.  We almost exploded with excitement. When we looked up at our families and James they were all dancing, waving and smiling. We felt so proud of ourselves. Afterwards I had a big celebration with my family. In short, it was one of THE BEST DAYS OF MY LIFE!!!
