Willow 2019 Reading Challenge

Willow 2019 Reading Challenge

Find a cosy corner, pull up a comfy chair or hop into bed, and settle in for the Willow 2019 Reading Challenge! This year, we are introducing a challenge for all boys from 2nd – 6th Form to read a little bit more and to extend your reading to books you wouldn’t normally read.

It will run from January 2019 until December 2019 so there will be plenty of time for reading over the summer holidays. For those very enthusiastic readers, we also have an Advanced Reading Challenge with an extra 8 prompts and room for even more titles. Before you stress about tackling all these books, this is NOT a competition and there are no prizes. Even if you don’t finish the challenge, just remember that the point of it is to push yourself to read a little more, to read new genres of books and just have fun with it. And if you read more books in 2019 than in 2018, even better.

You may even discover a new favourite book along the way! You do not even have to buy new books as there are plenty of books in the library to cover all prompts. The library is open from 8.30am before school. I will be going through the details with everybody during the first library class of 2019 and if you’d like to get involved, I have a spreadsheet with the challenges (there’s a special one for 2nd Formers and an extended one for 3rd – 6th Form).

You can fill in the title of the books you’ve read onto the spreadsheet and if you finish them all before the end of 2019, there’s even more space to write in extra titles.
