Weekly Message from the Principal - Good Communication

Good Communication solves problems!
All positive ‘relationships’ depend upon good communication.
It is obvious! Thus, one of the key ingredients for a ‘good school’ is open communication lines between all three ‘partners’: pupils, teachers and parents.
Whilst this might seem clear and is assumed to be ‘best practice – it is not always the case. Pupils ‘clam-up’ when worried or upset; teachers have many learning and behavioural ‘scenarios’ to cope with at any one time and parents are often very busy with the concerns (and growing hours and complexities) of the modern world. Hence, over the coming weeks we will be keeping parents regularly updated with the best advice from the HSE, the department of education and the WHO regarding CoVid-19 to ensure that the health and safety of all within the Junior school is our number one priority.
Every single challenge that we face in life ultimately will bring opportunity. Even when we are facing the uncertainty of CoVid -19 this has made all of us more aware of good hand and respiratory hygiene and the importance of limiting the spread of germs. I must thank the teachers for educating the boys on good hand hygiene and limiting the spread of germs when they cough and sneeze. I know this education has continued at home and I must thank the Junior school parents for their guidance, support and advice.
I would especially like to thank a group of medical practitioners/parents in the school who have created a sub-committee for any matters medical within the Junior school. I will be meeting regularly with this committee and following best practice/advice from them over the coming weeks.
It is always a healthy sign in a school when pupils, parents and teachers are keen to communicate!
Principal’s Note –
I would like to thank all 112 Sixth Form young men, the Fifth Form choir, altar servers and teachers for a special Confirmation service last Saturday.
The singing, dignity and respect shown made me extremely proud and privileged to be your Principal.
Finally, Our new Health committee will be meeting a number of times over the next 2 weeks.
Thank you!
