Every year in the lead up to Christmas Willow Park Junior School runs the Annual Toy and Food Appeal. This year will be no different! It will run from Monday 23rd November to December 11th, and all the details, including where and when you can drop in your donations, can be found below. Thank you for your support this Christmas!
Toy Appeal
Our annual Christmas Toy Appeal takes place next week from November 23rd until December 11th for 10 days. Each year we ask families in Willow to donate a new toy, of any size for boys or girls aged 4- 12 years old. This year, we are especially asking for toys for girls aged between 8 and 12. This collection is for our friends in an inner city school in Dublin, families who are not as lucky as us. So we ask you to remember , when you are out shopping next to please consider adding a gift to your trolley which will make a huge difference to a child. Ideas for toys are, a jewellery or craft making set, friendship bracelets, drawing, colouring or painting sets, lego, dolls, doll clothes, pencil cases and stationary, puzzles, board games, balls, stickers, jigsaws . Please no guns or war games and as always we ask that the toy is new and unwrapped. The collection boxes will be left in the changing rooms from November 23rd November. Thank you, as always for all your generosity and all your kindness.
Food Appeal
In addition to the Toy collection we also have a food collection in aid of the Capuchin Centre in inner city Dublin. They provide meals and food packs to families and the homeless in inner city Dublin everyday. Their selfless dedication is a lesson to us all and our annual food donation is accepted gratefully. So we hope you could consider adding some extra food onto your shopping list and donate it to the Capuchin's. The foods that can be donated should have a shelf life for 4 weeks such as:
-
Tinned food
- Packaged food
- Cereals
- Packet soups
- Sauces
- Chocolate & Biscuits
- Condiments
How to donate:
The Toy and Food Donations are being collected every morning between 7.45am and 10am. The Collection point will be the Swimming Pool Changing area. The entrance to this room is at the side of the Swimming Pool, not the main entrance, and the door is visible from the Car Park. There will be 6th Form boys wearing Hi Viz jackets there from 7.45am and will direct the parents where to leave their donation. At 10am every morning the door will be closed and that day's donations will be cleaned thoroughly using the School's UV Light machine.
