Every day in Willow Park Junior School, the boys and teachers are surrounded by a state of the art facility that is filled with so much light and space.
Previous Development Projects 2009 - 2019
Prior to 2009 many of the classrooms were prefabs. There was no library, STEM classes, performing art classes or music/drama in the hub. In 2009 this new, modern building was unveiled.
In 2012, the Des Places Sports Hall opened in Blackrock College, followed by the Creative Arts & Digital Learning Centre in 2013. Since last November, the superb all-weather playing and training 4G pitch has been enthusiastically received by all 1,800 Willow and Blackrock boys.
Opening shortly is the new Senior School extension which will house a library, meditation room, computer room and Home Economics facility.
What School Fees Cover
School fees cover staff, maintenance and operational costs. No money from school fees goes towards any development or upgrades. Since 2001 €40m has been spent on projects in Willow Park and Blackrock College. To date €19 million has been kindly donated by parents and past pupils.
Future Development Projects 2019 - 2024
Development projects taking place from 2019-2024 aim to include the redevelopment of pitches, widening of the avenues and upgrade of Willow Park swimming pool. €9 million for these development projects is required.
Tours of Blackrock College
Johnny O’Shea, Head of Campus Development, will shortly be commencing tours of Blackrock College for all Willow Park Junior School Parents. He would very much welcome the opportunity to showcase the college to parents and give them a deeper understanding of its facilities, extra-curricular programmes and day-to-day life for the boys when their time comes to become Blackrock Boys !
