For the next 3 weeks as part of PE Class with Mr Byrne, 3rd to 6th form (and some of our teachers!) are going to take on the ultimate challenge and climb the world’s highest mountain…. Mount Everest at 8848 Meters.
Starting at Lukla, heading through Namche Bazar, Tengboche, Base Camp, the Khumbu Icefall, Hillary’s Step and finally to the TOP OF THE WORLD….!!!!
So how are we going to do this EVEREST CHALLENGE since we are in lockdown and can’t travel to Nepal…?
VIRTUALLY of course...!
Every day for the next 3 weeks (21 days) we will walk or run and record our steps or distance. From the moment you get up until you go to bed that evening, every step will count towards your daily/weekly step count.
The journey is 64KM in total.
That’s approx 83,990 steps.
So you have 3 weeks (21 days) to achieve this challenge.
This works out at 4,000 steps per day, 28,000 per week.
EASY…..!!!!
Each class will have more details in their class team. Good luck everyone, see you at the summit!!
