Where can I buy Shark's kit?

The boys are given details of what they will need for the training which can be purchased from Swimkit.ie or Uniformity.  Willow jammers and Swim Team hoodies can be ordered through Helle Moyna

Who are The Sharks?

The Sharks are Willow Park's competitive swim team trained by accomplished head coach James Lawless, who represent their school at numerous galas and schools competitions throughout the year.

Willow's Sharks are well known on the swim circuit and consistently achieve top places at the Leinster and Ireland Minor Schools Championships.  In February 2017, The Sharks relay teams won gold for both Medley and Freestyle at 12 & Under at the Leinster Minor Schools and went on to achieve gold again in both events at the Irish School's Minor Championships. The Sharks currently hold the Leinster School's relay records for Freestyle and Medley at both 12&U and 10&U.

The Sharks have yet to lose their own swim gala 'Duel in the Pool' which will take place on the 22nd November 2017 against St Michael's, St Pius, Gonzaga, St Mary's, Scoil Bríde and KPS.  Next April, the Sharks will compete for the Willow Cup won narrowly last year by visiting UK team, Dulwich.

Many Sharks go on to achieve great personal success as swimmers. Congratulations to Willow's Michael Curley who is currently on the Leinster panel and Ethan Murtagh who is our first Shark Youth Olympian.

When and where do The Sharks train?

The Senior squad of 24 boys train three mornings a week in the Blackrock College pool and the Development squad of 26 boys train two morning in the Willow pool before school.

There has been a new addition of one morning per week for boys who have attended trials and need some specific work on strokes before joining the squads.

How do I join the Sharks?

Trials are held for boys from 8 years of age who are competent to swim at least 25m in each of the four strokes, freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly, and are who within a small margin of the Leinster schools qualifying times in at least one stroke.

Is there a cost?

The cost for the year is €100.00 per boy which covers all training sessions or €50 for 1 morning per week.
